On November 3rd, students and faculty of the Applied Geology department joined the Kyrgyz Seismic Hazard Seminar taught by Prof. Ray Weldon from Oregon State University (OSU). The workshop is organized as part of a Central Asia University Partnerships Program (UniCEN) program that provides grants for universities in Central Asia.

Main objective of the research is to improve current understanding of the causes and impacts of the winter air pollution in Bishkek.

Literature Week is a part of CASI’s Workshop on Literature and History. Supported by a generous contribution from Matthew Nimetz, the aim of the workshop is to create a community of junior scholars and advanced graduate students committed to studying literature and to applying literary tools and methodologies to the study of literary art in the Central Asian past.

On October 26, an open lecture was given by the Professor of Liberal Arts and Sciences Program Cholpon Chotaeva within her Introduction to Peace and Conflict Studies course.

Sociology Department welcomes applications from graduate students of Master’s program intake 2021 for an exchange semester at Magdeburg University in spring 2022. The aim of this exchange program is to support students who show commitment to and excellence in Sociology.

On Tuesday, October 26, the AUCA community held the Orientation Week for exchanged students from the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF), as well as for new students in NGA and undergraduate programs that came to AUCA from Afghanistan.

This semester, first time in history, four NGA alumni Sezim Askarbekova, Aliiya Egemberdieva, Aizada Almazbekova, and Marsel Sadykov have become the finalists of Bard Globalization and International Affairs Program (BGIA) and Bard Program in International Education (PIE).  
 
 

On October 15, 17:30, Eduard will meet with AUCA students and alumni to discuss his journey, exchange opinions, and draw a parallel between conquering the highest peak on earth with leadership and life.
