In the summer, from July 12 to July 24, 2025, a select group of high school students from China embarked on an academic expedition to answer a critical question: How do local communities in the heart of Central Asia adapt to pressing global challenges? Set against the stunning backdrop of Kyrgyzstan’s Tian Shan mountains, this immersive Environmental Science program was designed to move learning far beyond the traditional classroom, transforming participants into active field researchers.

The Central Asian Studies Network in Germany (CASNiG), the American University of Central Asia (AUCA)’s Department of International and Comparative Politics (ICP) and the Institut Français d'Etudes sur l'Asie Centrale (IFEAC) co-organized the 6th Annual CASNiG conference titled "RE-Making the City: Urbanization with its opportunities and challenges in Central Asia" in Bishkek on 8-10 June 2025.

On a recent occasion in April 2025, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) welcomed His Excellency Mr. Hideki Goda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic, for a guest lecture titled “Ambassador Talks: Japan and Kyrgyzstan.

On April 18, 2025, the AUCA Career Development Center successfully held the AUCA Career Fair 2025, bringing together students, alumni, employers, and partners for a day full of networking, exploration, and new opportunities.

 

The International and Comparative Politics (ICP) Department was honored to host a series of insightful events on April 7, in collaboration with faculty and students from SOAS University of London.

  In 2022, at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic, the UN General Assembly declared March 5th as the International Day for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation. The significance of this resolution lies in raising global awareness of the risks posed to humanity by weapons of mass destruction and illegal attempts to proliferate them in violation of international legal norms.

 

 Inspiring Guest Lecture with the CEO of Mugalim.AI in AI and Blockchain for Social Innovation course! 
At the end of January, we had an opportunity to learn how AI is being integrated into education in Kyrgyzstan, based on the case of Mugalim.

On January 27, a guest lecture was organized for AUCA students with Zamira Mirzamidinova and her son Omurbek on the topic “Realize Yourself!” as part of the social entrepreneurship training.Zamira Mirzamidinova and her son Omurbek are social entrepreneurs, creators, and founders of the social enterprise “Oma Juice.
