The "Promoting Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Tourism Industry of Kyrgyzstan" (PERETO) project is being implemented by the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) in consortium with partner organizations: UNISON Group (Kyrgyzstan), Technopolis Group (Belgium), and Collaborating Center on Sustainable Consumption and Production—СSCP (Germany).

AUCA hosts Geospatial workshop
On May 6 and 7, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) hosted Pavel Kiparisov, a Ph.D. candidate at the Central European University (CEU), for an enlightening workshop on geospatial sciences. Organized as part of OSUN's GeoHub project, the workshop, titled "Mapping for Policy Change: A Beginner's Guide to ArcGIS”" was well attended by both AUCA and TSI faculty and students.

The Tian Shan Policy Center of AUCA and the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Central Asia presented a study on migration and the Migration Yearbook 2023: Influence of the COVID-19 on formation of migration policy of countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation
The authors of the yearbook are experts: Leyla Delovarova (section on Kazakhstan), Tatiana Zlobina (section on Kyrgyzstan), Dmitry Poletaev (sections on Russia and Turkmenistan), Saodat Olimova (section on Tajikistan), Lyudmila Maksakova (section on Uzbekistan).

Empowering Youth for Sustainable Solutions: Ecological Hackathon in Kyrgyzstan
From 4th-7th December, collaborating with six Kyrgyz universities, and supported by the European Union's SWITCH-Asia programme, PERETO partnered with IDEA Central Asia to launch the extensive Ecology 3.0 ecological campaign.

In the framework of the project aimed at improving pasturelands and biodiversity in the Chychkan Valley, students from the American University of Central Asia visited students from the 8th and 9th grades of School No. 41 named after Ibrahimov Umarov in the village of Zhany-Zhol in the Jalal-Abad region.

From July 24 to 28, a group of 6 students and 4 faculty from the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) participated in a five-day summer school on "Geospatial Technologies for Building Resilience" at the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, Hungary. The workshop, which included attendees from various departments such as Environmental Sustainability and Climate Science, Applied Geology, Economics, and Software Engineering, aimed to explore the practical applications of geospatial technologies in disaster resilience and climate change mitigation.
